NORTH EAST AWARD WINNING MARKETING AGENCY

At the inaugural North East Marketing Awards 2018, Cal Partners won the Agency of the Year (under 20 employees) category. The event took place on the evening of Thursday 18th October at The Biscuit Factory, Stoddart Street, Newcastle and was attended by marketing industry leaders from across the region. As well as being finalists for the Agency of the Year Category, Cal Partners' founder and director, Chris Lucarelli, was also a finalist in the Marketing Director of the Year category.

The Awards recognise and celebrate the breadth and talent of the North East's thriving marketing industry, including the ever-growing digital sector. The awards cover a wide range of categories including individual achievements from Rising Star of the Year to the Outstanding Achievement award, as well as different types and sizes of organisations ranging from in-house marketing teams to niche boutique agencies, as well as specific digital, brand, launch, not for profit and other campaigns.

The prestige of the awards is reflected by the calibre of the extensive and diverse judging panel. The judges for the Agency of the Year Category included Dr Joanna Berry, Associate Professor, Entrepreneurship, Durham University, Lisa Wood, Chief Marketing Officer Atom Bank and Chris Kent, Managing Consultant at Nigel Wright Recruitment. The feedback from the Judges was as follows:
“The finalists for this category all showed a high quality of work, demonstrating the breadth and skills of the agencies in this region. The judges saw a range of excellent pitches and the finalists demonstrated a mix of delivering a committed service and return on investment for their clients, excellent strategic thinking and brand positioning. One agency in particular stood out to the judges – Cal Partners. Their business’ progression was well thought out and carefully structured, showing evidence of strong growth year on year. Challenging the norm of marketing activities in a highly traditional sector, they showed effective and efficient deployment of limited client budgets and highly creative use of resources. Their commitment to the professional development of staff is admirable and the personal qualifications of the team reflect the desire to evidence professional credibility. A truly different and highly successful business, this agency is an impressive award winner.”
